Beach & pavilion

The community beach and pavilion belong to every Chesapeake Isle owner. Owners and their guests can swim, picnic and play here, and members can reserve the pavilion for a private event.

What’s there

  • A swim area, marked with floats each season
  • The pavilion, built in 1980, with picnic tables, a grill and ice chests
  • A bathhouse
  • A playground and a game closet
  • Courts and horseshoe pits
  • Grills and a firepit

Beach rules

  • The beach is for owners, renters and their guests. A host should be on the Isle when guests use it. See Decals & guest passes.
  • No pets, leashed or not. Leashed dogs are welcome at the harbor.
  • No fishing, boating, kayaking or paddleboarding inside the swim area.
  • An adult must supervise children under 12.
  • Fires only in the grills and firepit, and make sure they’re fully out. No fireworks.
  • Put trash in the containers provided.
  • Keep the bathhouse locked.
  • Display a CICA decal or guest pass. Park only in marked areas, never on the grass, and don’t leave vehicles, boats or trailers overnight.
  • No business or personal-profit activities.
  • CICA may close the beach at any time.

The full rules are in the CICA Rules & Regulations, section 1.

Reserving the pavilion

Members in good standing can reserve the pavilion for a private event of up to 50 guests.

  1. Send a reservation request with the form below. You can also fill out the Pavilion Permit (under Pavilion documents) and mail it.
  2. The Pavilion Chair replies by email to confirm your date, and it shows as reserved on the calendar.
  3. Pay the $50 fee by check payable to CICA, or online when that option is shown. Your reservation is complete once the fee is received.
  4. The Chair will give you keys to the cooler storage and game closet, and the bathhouse code.

Your reservation includes the picnic tables, grill and ice chests. The playground, game closet, beach and bathhouse stay open to other residents during your event. Indoor storage spaces aren’t included. There are no rain dates, so plan for the weather.

During your event

  • Events can run from 9 am to midnight. The county noise ordinance applies from 10 pm to 6 am.
  • No glass containers and no pets.
  • Put out all fires completely.
  • Bag your trash and leave the pavilion clean.
  • Return the keys to the Pavilion Chair afterward.
  • Breaking the permit rules can cost you pavilion privileges for one year.
